Artista e investigadora en neuroestética, Amaia Salazar defiende el arte como una herramienta esencial para la salud y el bienestar emocional. A través de su experiencia personal con la parálisis del sueño y su trabajo con pacientes y científicos, muestra cómo el arte puede dar forma a lo inexpresable, acompañar procesos médicos y generar comunidad. Una charla que invita a mirar el arte como una necesidad humana, no como un lujo. Doctora, profesora e investigadora de arte en la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. Ha desarrollado su labor investigadora en instituciones internacionales como la Ruskin School of Art de la Universidad de Oxford, donde fue Investigadora Postdoctoral Margarita Salas y Junior Research Fellow en el Wolfson College. También ha sido investigadora visitante en el Basque Center of Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL), donde profundizó en los vínculos entre arte y neurociencia cognitiva, y en la New York University (NYU), donde complementó su investigación con aportaciones de la psicología conductual. Su trabajo se sitúa en la intersección entre arte, ciencia y salud, y explora cómo las experiencias artísticas permiten comprender mejor los procesos cognitivos y emocionales. Especializada en la cognición corporizada y los estados oníricos, utiliza la práctica artística como herramienta de investigación.
