You Are Never Truly Alone | Blake Pflanz | TEDxClinton Central School

What if feeling alone wasn’t a dead end, but a starting point? In this heartfelt and compassionate talk, Blake explores the quiet moments of loneliness that many of us face—and reframes them as invitations to connect. From the simple act of thinking about someone you care about to sparking conversation in unexpected places, Blake reminds us that we are more connected than we think. Drawing on personal stories, including a childhood moment on a buddy bench that became a turning point, this talk offers a deeply human approach to building connection—one thought, one person, one step at a time. Whether it’s imagining someone you love or saying hello to a stranger, you can find your place in the world by simply reaching out. Because sometimes, the first step to feeling less alone is realizing you never truly were. Blake Pflanz is a 12-year-old student at Clinton Middle School who loves football, track, and cross-country. When he isn’t helping out or having fun, he can be found having fun with his brother or trying to help out around the house. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
