How Portuguese Accordion Music Got Everyone Dancing | Humberto Silva | TEDxPraça Gil Eanes

What happens when a TEDx stage turns into a Portuguese festa? Humberto Silva’s lively accordion performance brought everyone to their feet—blending traditional rhythms with pure joy. In this unforgettable moment of “Limitless Together,” Humberto invited the audience to feel the pulse of Portuguese culture through sound, rhythm, and dance. From Lagos to Lisbon, Canada to Cannes, Humberto has made it his mission to bring people together through music. This TEDx performance isn’t just entertainment—it’s a reminder that joy, connection, and movement are universal languages. Prepare to smile, sway, and maybe even dance along. Humberto Silva was born in Lagos in 1984 and has been living, breathing, and spreading Portuguese music since childhood. At just 4 years old, he received his first accordion—and by 12, he was already performing at festivals and dance halls across the Algarve. With over 28 years of professional experience, Humberto has taken the rhythms of Portugal across Europe and Canada, delighting crowds with his upbeat shows and magnetic presence. Known for bringing funaná, baile vibes, and contagious joy to every stage, he has also appeared on national TV, charming audiences with songs like “Funaná da Criola” and “Ritmo de Festa.” Music isn’t just Humberto’s job—it’s his lifelong passion and a bridge to cultural connection. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
