Lead. Fall. Rise. Repeat: The Art of Becoming | Prachi Tehlan | TEDxIMTHyderabad
Prachi’s TEDx talk explores the theme of "awareness through transformation." She shares how her journey through sports, acting, and life has shaped who she is today. From overcoming obstacles to embracing new opportunities, Prachi emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, resilience, and the willingness to evolve. Her message to her audience is to recognize the power of self-transformation and to lead with purpose, whether in sports, business, or life itself. Prachi Tehlan is an inspiring entrepreneur, sportswoman, and advocate for women’s empowerment who is passionate about creating positive change through leadership and innovation. In her TEDx talk, she reflects on her journey of self-evolution, drawing inspiration from various chapters of her life – from being an athlete to an actor to a professional. Her story is one of perseverance, determination, and the constant renewal of self-awareness, encapsulated in the idea of Shashvatam Navachetanam – the continuous transformation of self.
Prachi’s journey began as a young basketball player representing Delhi, where she learned discipline, focus, and the importance of muscle memory through sports. Her dedication was evident in her daily routine, waking up at 5 a.m. to practice basketball for an hour and a half before school. However, her athletic career took an unexpected turn when an injury forced her to step back, marking the first pivotal moment in her life.Despite the setback, Prachi embraced the challenge, realizing that strength was not just about physical performance but about lifting oneself up after setbacks.
This resilience led to another turning point when Prachi was introduced to netball. With no prior experience, she took the chance, and through perseverance, was selected for the Commonwealth Games camp. Ultimately, she became the youngest captain of the Indian netball team, achieving a milestone she had never imagined as a young girl.Despite her success in sports, Prachi recognized the need for a career outside of athletics and pursued higher education, completing dual MBAs. She joined Accenture, first as an HR intern, and later as a consultant. However, her next big transformation came when she was offered an acting opportunity, leading her from the sports court to the world of entertainment.
